Aaron Sprecher. Patterns in Evolution, JAE, 70:1, 72-73.

As part of the publication Design as Scholarship of biannual peer-reviewed academic journal JAE, architect Aaron Sprecher's text comments on the experimental use of digital tools as pedagogical practice. Notions of affect and atmosphere are coupled with data and digitization of spaces and architectural objects. "Structural assemblies and ornamental expressionism, upturned digital codes and phantasmagoric environments, mathematical determinism and psychological conditions, are addressed while designing architectural systems that unfold, transform, and mutate at the rate of information streaming and screening." The article highlights a research interest for an aesthetic of imperfections and instability, for a break from the sublime and order, for a beauty that exists in the realm of fluctuations.
